Rapid Hair Loss - Should You Be Using a Hair Loss Treatment Product?
Are you experiencing rapid hair loss and not sure what to do about it? Depending on the cause of your rapid hair loss, you may be able to stop it from happening. This article will help weigh out your options to see if you can actually do something to keep your hair longer.
Now obviously there are multiple rapid hair loss causes that can contribute in some way to hair-loss. Things like environmental factors, nutrition, and your diet can play a big difference in the amount of nutrients you are absorbing into your hair and bloodstream. If you deal with a lot of stress from traumatic and life-changing events like a death in the family or a serious car accident, it could actually cause hair loss as well.
Then there is also those people that have a certain disease, are undergoing chemotherapy or other radiation treatment, or are taking a certain type of medication that can also experience rapid hair loss. But unfortunately, there isn't really any treatments out there that can help these people grow their hair back. In most cases, it will actually grow back itself.
But out of all rapid hair loss victims, 95% of all cases are considered male or female pattern baldness which is caused by genetics and heredity. What you actually inherit is a gene that makes your hair follicles highly sensitive to an androgen or hormone in the body called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. What DHT does is flow through your bloodstream to your follicles where it makes them smaller and smaller until they die and fall out. But unlike the other 50-100 hairs that you normally shed every day, these ones never grow back.
For this large group of people with male or female pattern baldness, there are non-surgical treatments options that have been FDA-approved and proven to be effective for most people. One of them in Finasteride (also known as Propecia), which is an oral prescription medication taken daily. It's been shown to be very effective in most people, but the fact that it can cause adverse sexual side effects prevents many people from using it (especially if you are still young and want to have a family).
The other choice you have is using a rapid hair loss treatment with Minoxidil in it. This is a topically-applied medication that has also been FDA-approved to help stop hair-loss and encourage hair regrowth. And even though it's not effective is quite as many people as Finasteride is, it's still much safer and it's considered to be a top rapid hair-loss treatment.
