Rapid Weight Loss Claims

Lose ten pounds in ten days no matter what you eat! It is a truly remarkable rapid weight loss system. Eat double what you want, more than you want, or just as much as you want, and you will still be able to have rapid weight loss with no exercise! This might work so well you'll pop out of existence-and you'll drop a pant size in a day, too! Now, should these rapid weight loss marketing claims be true, then rapid weight loss is a miracle reality of today's world with no effort required on the dieter's part.

What hooey! Even though they are mostly false, Americans pay out over 40 billion dollars a year on pills, rapid weight loss products and programs that just don't work. People still come up with all sorts of inane diets and rapid weight loss products. Don't forget Beyonce's starvation "master cleanse" diet! It was nothing but lemon juice, maple syrup, water and cayenne pepper. Really! Supposedly, it cleared out the system of years' worth of built-up toxins. Maple syrup destroys toxins, huh? Who knew? So the next time someone gets bitten by a poisonous snake, have them eat some crepés? Don't forget the guaranteed magic creams, pills and diet supplements that will burn pounds without any exercise, guaranteed. Yes, you read that right-it wasn't a typo. They bring up the word "guarantee" so much it starts to lose what it means. When they don't state precisely is implicated by the "guarantee," then it has no meaning. It is just a way of making the community think that the product works.

Very Low Calorie Diets-VLCDs-are another diet. Studies prove that they work, too. Quite often they are marketed to people in their homes to get rid of a few pounds. Because of their nature, that is a problem. Because they are designed for seriously overweight-obese-people, VLCD's are intense diets designed just for them. This type of diet usually has the patient eat half or less of their daily caloric intake. VLCD's are meant to be used in places where people cannot cheat, such as a hospital, or another medically supervised closed locations. When done outside of one of those locations, in a place like a "fat farm" the diets can be very hazardous to the dieters' health. In general, the diet will not work because of binge eating, after a time of partial starvation.

Rapid weight loss, if it does work, produces a number of troubles with the body. In those people who drop great amounts of weight over a few months, painful, sometimes excruciating gallstones will form in close to 25% of dieters. Then there are those dieters who are careless, and become dehydrated because it simply does not occur to them just how much of the water they need to drink actually does come from their food. That is easily fixed by simply drinking more water. Careless dieters will also face malnutrition if they don't include enough protein in their diet over a long period of time. After a while, the body may not even be able to handle protein, which can not only lead to major illness, but death, too.

Rapid weight loss is a great idea. But it's not for a lot of people, and should be managed and watched over by qualified medical professionals.
