Fast and Rapid Weight Loss, an Exercise in Futility
Have you ever dieted and lost a large amount of weight in a short period of time, only to gain it all back again? Then did you try to diet again, lose some more weight, only to gain that all back again?
This back and forth of losing weight and gaining it back will weaken your body, your immune system, and can cause damage to some of your major organs. It is much better to lose the weight in a healthy, gradual manner, instead of starving and confusing your body so badly that it does not know whether or not it will get food tomorrow.
These rapid weight loss attempts ultimately cause your body to store nutrients that should be being processed, because it is worried that it may not get anything the next day, and that it will need something to draw off of. Which leads to you gaining weight, making you unhappy, and all just for you to deprive yourself once again to lose the weight. Then you get tired of restricting yourself, so you eat more in an act of rebellion or frustration, and you gain the lost weight right back. It is a vicious cycle.
Losing a couple of pounds a week through smarter eating and daily exercise may take you a little longer to get down to your goal weight, but it will ultimately serve you much better in the long run. So, make sure that you are exercising regularly, and modifying your eating habits in a healthy manner.
