Marketing Theory - Rapid Scale-Ups For Fast Moving Entrepreneurs

If you have a great idea for a business you'll need to move fast, as chances are someone, somewhere already thought about it, and is busy making money doing it. If not, as soon as you start they'll come out of the wood work and copy you, so you have to be ready for this. The best thing to do is to think in terms of rapid scale-up to take advantage of your entrepreneurial break through.

Before retirement, I was a founder of a franchising company and interestingly enough, franchising teaches your mind to think about replication, and regional tweaking, borrowing ideas from one place, modifying them a little and using them somewhere else. Wouldn't matter if you were designing a wing, mechanical shark, wind turbine blade or a UAV working off a satellite triangulation on Mars - see that point? I guess a great designer or draftsman would readily see this, but far too many business start-ups don't. Why?

I mean have you ever consider why so many people do not understand what Gerber was talking about in his bestselling book "the E-Myth" as that is a pretty straight forward examination of what it takes to expand, manage and grow a business. Now, I am not suggesting the franchising model in all cases, because quite frankly it's a hard nut to crack with all the over regulation and litigiousness.

But, there are ways to grow a company using licensing, distributorships, multi-level exploits, co-ops, alliances, and just basically duplicate your way to success. No, it's not easy, and no matter which model you choose for expansion, it will be hard work. But you must consider rapid scale-up from the onset. Please consider this.
