The Best Way to Build Muscle Fast - Why the 10-10 Transformation Works Best For Rapid Muscle Growth
I've tried a lot of different muscle building programs over the last 25 years to try to build muscle fast and rarely does one really impress me so much that I want to go out and tell the world about it. A couple years ago I started reading articles by Chad Waterbury and was really impressed with his fresh concepts on strength training and muscle building. Finally a guy was using a master's degree in neurophysiology to tweak the human body through performance training.
By working with the limitations of the human body Chad has unlocked the secrets to rapid muscle growth. The majority of systems out there will either work the muscles too hard for too long or don't actually work them hard or frequently enough. There is a balancing act and by staying somewhere in the middle you can get consistent results but they aren't the fastest results you can get.
Chad Waterbury has such a detailed understanding of the CNS (central nervous system) that he knows it's not just about overtaxing the muscle cells themselves but the CNS which can lead to a lack of gains. By using very smart periodization you can work around the limitations of the central nervous system to work for your benefit. One of the fastest programs Chad employs for muscle growth is HFT or high frequency training. This is the system that literally blew me away.
High frequency training is where you will work each muscle up to 5 times per week in a series of full body workouts. You might be asking how the heck do you not over train right? It's simple - the workouts are diverse hitting different motor unit patterns, rep ranges, set ranges, and rest between sets. It is a lot of work but in 3 short week you can pack on 5 solid pounds of muscle without supplements and doing it completely naturally. After 3 weeks of this training you must switch into a non HFT phase that focuses on something else to avoid burnout.
The 10 10 Transformation by Chad Waterbury rolls this out perfectly with 4 training phases of 3 weeks each. You will gain 10 pounds of muscle during the 6 weeks of HFT training and lose 10 pounds of fat during the 6 weeks of non HFT. It is truly a transforming experience when you look in the mirror and your waistline is a couple inches smaller and your chest and shoulders have exploded with new growth.
