Rapid Weight Loss Diets Promise More Than They Can Deliver

Millions of people make a New Year's Resolution each year to improve themselves in some way, whether it is quitting smoking, being a better person, sticking to a budget, eating better, getting enough sleep or getting regular exercise.  Losing weight is the number one resolution.  The main issue is that people do not know how to go about losing weight properly and they get caught up in fad rapid weight loss diets that claim you can lose 5 pounds per week.  These fad diets only lead to disappointment and heartbreak.  In order to truly achieve body fat reduction, you need to change your eating habits and the foods that you eat.  Call it a "lifestyle change".

There are so many benefits to changing your lifestyle and  weight loss with the ultimate goal of body fat reduction.  You will be able to get around more easily, breath more freely and reduce your risks for stroke, cancer and heart disease.

The biggest reason people will fall off the wagon with any rapid weight loss diet is that these diets are just not realistic.  If the plan involves eating the same foods over and over again (no variety), pills, shakes, low carb, or eliminating any of the main food groups, then there is no way it will work.  Your body is a well oiled machine that needs a variety of fuels to function properly.  These fuels include whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables and lean proteins.  Contrary to the popular belief that fats are bad for you, your body requires certain fats in order to function.  If the plan you have chosen is too extreme, you need to consider a more sensible one.

If you think about it, you did not gain the extra weight in one month, so why do you believe for even one moment that you can lose it in a month?  Be realistic, get a plan in place that is do-able and follow it.  You owe it to yourself to look after your body and live a healthier, longer life!  There are many diet plans available on and off line, but you need to look for a sensible weight loss plan that you can work with.
