Rapid Weight Loss Diet - How to Distinguish Fast Weight Loss Diets From the Pretenders
Planning on starting a rapid weight loss diet? You need to be sure you know what you are getting in to right from the beginning. There are a lot of low quality diets out there that could do more bad than good to your body. Conversely, there are some great quick weight loss diets that will contribute to healthy, slimmer body.
Here is 1 vital rule to determine if your diet is a dud or stud:
The 5 Days or Less Rule
There are tons of diets to lose weight which promise massive results in literally no time at all. It seems as the days go on, the claims get more and more outlandish.
Stay away from any diets which only cycle for 5 days or less. In my experience, I have learned about many crash diets that last less than 5 days and get huge results. The problem is that crash diets often use methods such as starvation to get these results.
Results with diets that last 5 days or less are usually not sustainable over the long run. Many times, most of the weight you lost is just form water retention.
Once you begin a normal (healthy) diet again, the weight will come back just as fast as you lost it.
If by chance, you actually lose real fat with this type of diet, good for you! But it will not benefit you in the long run either.
The only way to lose a lot of weight this quickly would be through greatly reducing the number of calories you take in per day. This has actually been proven to greatly slow down the metabolism (yes, even slower than before) which will promote more calorie storage. In other words, you will gain more fat.
