A Hemorrhoids Cure - Shrink Piles Rapidly

Our lifestyle and diet means that more and more people are seeking a Hemorrhoids cure. The best approach is to avoid the problem by ensuring you have a fibre rich diet and avoiding straining the anal area, but if you are unfortunate enough to suffer hemorrhoids you will probably want to find a way to shrink your piles rapidly and gain fast relief from itching and painful hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids occur when the veins around the anus area are strained. This can be due to constipation, lifting heavy objects, obesity or pregnancy. The damage can also be caused by physical activities that involve straining the anal muscles for any reason; long distance cyclists will often suffer with piles.

Our body deals with physical damage by sending increased blood to the area, the white blood cells then begin to repair the damage. In many ways this is the worst thing that can happen when you form a hemorrhoid. The increase blood will also increase pressure on the damaged blood vessel and cause it to strain further, this is the lump you may feel just inside the anus. Left untreated this could develop into a thrombosed haemorrhoid which is more difficult to treat and ultimately may need surgery.

There is a two fold treatment that can shrink your piles quickly and allow them to heal completely.

Firstly apply an ice pack to the area. As soon as you feel discomfort or notice blood you need to rapidly cool the area. This discourages blood from flowing to the area and encourages shrinkage in the damaged area. Do not apply ice directly, instead wrap ice in a soft cloth and press the pack onto the anus. You could also use tissue moistened with cold water and changed regularly.

Once this immediate first aid is applied you can encourage the blood vessels in the area to shrink further by using a natural astringent. Astringents shrink blood vessels and one of the best is Oak Bark The high levels of tannins in the bark will tighten and strengthen the walls of the veins, this will have an immediate healing effect but will also help prevent the piles from returning.

Oak bark can be obtained from herbalists or you can gather some yourself, just be kind to the tree and shave thin strips avoiding cutting too deeply. Cover a handful of shredded bark with water, bring to the boil and allow it to simmer for 10 minutes. Leave the bark in the water while it cools. Once strained the cooled liquid is then applied to the affected area on soaked cloths or tissues.

You will probably notice the pile shrink almost immediately but the treatment should be continued 2-3 times daily for 3 days. This will ensure the area is given the opportunity to heal.
